Park Jungsoo, or Leeteuk, is known as the leader of Super Junior. SM Entertainment was recommended to him by a talent scout, so he auditioned and became a trainee. He chose the stage name Leeteuk, meaning "special," so he wouldn't be confused with a female actress of the same name, and because he liked stage names. He became leader because he was the best at leading and is the oldest member, which would make the members more willing to listen to him. Leeteuk is considered to be one of the best group leader in the kpop world.

In 2012, he enlisted in the military and is supposed to return later in 2014.

Leeteuk never really got along with his father. His father used to beat him constantly as a child and he feared his dad even as an adult. His father was a very angry man, and often took that anger out on Leeteuk and his mother when he was little. Sadly and just recently, Leeteuk's father and two grandparents passed away. The police said Leeteuk's father, who had struggled with anger his whole life, had murdered Leeteuk's grandparents before writing a suicide note and hanging himself. Leeteuk recieved a few days off from his duties in order to attend the funeral and say his goodbyes.
