Henry Lau is a very talented and gifted singer-songwriter, rapper, actor, and musician. He is a child prodigy and excels at the violin and guitar. Henry also speaks a total of 7 languages including fluent English (his first language), Korean, and Mandarin, conversational Cantonese, Japanese, and Thai, and basic French.
He was born and raised in Canada and was selected by SM Entertainment in 2006 as one of 2 people out of 3000 people to be recruited after auditioning. He originally wanted to be a proffesional violinist, but seeing as that wouldn't allow him to do the other things he loved such as singing and dancing, he decided to join SM.
He appeared playing violin in Super Junior's video for Don't Don and was placed in Super Junior M, a Madarin subgroup of Super Junior, in 2007.
