Kyuhyun is best known as one of the three most powerful singers in Super Junior. He is the "manae" of the group. Maknae means youngest in Korean and usually the Leader as well as the maknae are the most well known members since they are the ones that usually represent the group.

His family tried to pressure him into studying law, but Kyuhyun wanted to be a singer. In fact, his father actually opposed Kyuhyun's singing career, but alllowed him to do it as long as he was accepted into a great college and got great exam scores. He recieved his bachelor's degree in 2013 majoring in post-modern music at Kyunghee University.

He debuted in 2006 in Super Junior one whole year after the rest of the members of the groups had already debuted. He was actually a fan of the group and had trained with the members so when he was selected to add to the group, he was ecstatic.

In 2007, Kyuhyun, Leeteuk, Shindong, Eunhyuk, and two managers were rushed to the hospital after their van's front tire exploded, causing it to slam into a gaurd rail, skid forward, and flip onto it's right side. Shindong was practically unharmed except for a couple bruises and Eunhyuk and minor cuts and bruises, so both were able to leave the hospital after a few days. Leeteuk took a few weeks to recover since he had to recieve more than 170 stitches because glass shards had been embedded in his back and forehead. Kyuhyun on the other hand, nearly didn't survive.

Before the members were rushed to the hospital, when the ambulance had arrived, Shindong was panicked and Eunhyuk was extremely quiet as he cried while being carried off. Leeteuk was bawling on the ground next to an unconsious, bloody, bruised up Kyuhyun, screaming Kyuhyun's name over and over before the paramedics hoisted him onto a gurny and took him to the ambulance.

Kyuhyun suffered a fractured hip, pheumothorox from broken ribs, and injuries on his face including gashes and bruises.

Because of so much damage to his lungs, Doctor's told his parents that they would have to put a whole in his neck that could stop him from singing permanately. His parents rejected this idea, saying that Kyuhyun would rather die than never sing again. He was in a coma and had a 20% chance of living. Though, miraculously, he started improving and was released after 78 days. Because of how serious his injuries were from the accident, Kyuhyun may never have to enlist in the military since it is considered a health issue.
